How Verification Works
Many stores already ask customers to briefly show proof for mall worker, military, kamaʻāina, healthcare, teacher, or other community discounts. PerkShare digitizes a similar process so verified perks can be accessed more consistently across participating businesses.
Users upload:
- a selfie
- a government or work ID
- simple proof for each community they qualify for
Uploads are sent through encrypted file transfer and manually reviewed by a human verifier who confirms that the submitted documents, selfie, and account information match.
Once approved, users receive verified eligibility badges tied to their account. Their profile name and profile selfie become locked for redemption purposes, allowing stores to quickly confirm that the person redeeming the perk matches the verified account.
After verification review is completed, uploaded verification documents are deleted and are not permanently stored by PerkShare. Only the locked profile photo, approved badges, and account verification status remain attached to the account.
